Ingredients

- 2 cups All-purpose flour
- 1 tsp Almond extract
- 1/2 cup Granulated sugar
- 1 cup Powdered sugar
- 1/4 tsp Salt
- 1/2 cup Almonds, chopped
- 1 cup Butter, Unsalted
- 1/2 cup Candied/maraschino cherries, chopped
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a bowl, cream together the butter and granulated sugar until smooth.
- Mix in the almond extract.
- Gradually add the flour and salt, mixing until just combined.
- Fold in the chopped almonds and cherries.
- Scoop tablespoon-sized balls of dough and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes until lightly golden.
- While still warm, roll the cookies in powdered sugar to coat.
- Let cool completely on a wire rack before serving.
