Description

Deliciously simple treats combining peanut butter and chocolate for a delightful snack.


Ingredients

  • 4 cups Rice Krispie cereal
  • 1 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 1 cup light corn syrup
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup chocolate chips (semi-sweet or milk chocolate)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • A pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Prepare a baking dish by lining it with parchment paper.
  2. In a large saucepan, combine the light corn syrup, granulated sugar, and a pinch of salt. Heat over medium heat until it starts to boil, then boil for about 2 minutes without stirring.
  3. Remove from heat and add the creamy peanut butter and vanilla extract, stirring until smooth.
  4. Add the Rice Krispie cereal and coat well with the peanut butter mixture, then press into the baking dish.
  5. Melt the chocolate chips in the microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring in between.
  6. Pour the melted chocolate over the Rice Krispie mixture, spreading it evenly.
  7. Let sit at room temperature for about an hour to allow the chocolate to set.

Notes

Store in an airtight container for up to a week. Can also be frozen for up to three months.
