- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 cups all-purpose flour

- 1 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Cream the softened butter and granulated sugar for about three minutes until light and fluffy.
- Add vanilla and mix until combined.
- In another bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, and salt, then gradually add to the wet ingredients. Mix until a soft dough forms.
- Chill the dough for 30 minutes.
- Scoop tablespoon-sized portions and roll them into balls, placing them on the baking sheet.
- Press your thumb into the center of each ball to create wells.
- Bake for 10–12 minutes; the edges should be firm while the center softens.
- Remove from the oven and fill each thumbprint with chocolate chips while warm.
- Cool on a wire rack before serving.
