A delicious classic lasagna layered with rich meat sauce, creamy ricotta, and melted mozzarella.
Ingredients

- 9 lasagna noodles
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 pound ground pork
- 3 cups marinara sauce
- 15 ounces ricotta cheese
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 egg
- 2 teaspoons dried basil
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Cook lasagna noodles according to the package instructions; drain and set aside.
- In a skillet, brown ground beef and pork over medium heat; drain excess fat.
- Add marinara sauce to the meat mixture and let simmer for 15 minutes.
- In a bowl, combine ricotta cheese, egg, basil, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
- Spread a layer of meat sauce in the bottom of a baking dish.
- Layer 3 lasagna noodles, half the ricotta mixture, a layer of meat sauce, and a layer of mozzarella cheese.
- Repeat layers, finishing with noodles, meat sauce, and the remaining mozzarella and Parmesan on top.
- Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 25 minutes.
- Remove foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes until cheese is bubbly.
- Let cool for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.
Notes
For a vegetarian option, replace the meats with sautéed vegetables.
