A heartwarming and festive cake infused with spices and topped with creamy eggnog buttercream, perfect for holiday gatherings.

- 3 large Eggs
- 2 cups Granulated sugar
- 2 tbsp Oil
- 1 cup Butter
- 3 cups Cake flour
- 3 tsp Baking powder
- 1/4 tsp ground Cinnamon
- 3/4 tsp ground Nutmeg
- 1 1/4 tsp Rum flavorer
- 1 1/4 tsp Salt
- 3 tsp Vanilla
- 3/4 cup Milk
- 1 cup Eggnog
- 6 cups Powdered sugar
- 2 cups unsalted Butter
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease cake pans.
- In a large bowl, beat together the eggs, granulated sugar, and oil until well combined.
- In another bowl, mix together the cake flour, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, alternating with milk and eggnog.
- Pour the batter into prepared cake pans and bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- For the buttercream, beat together the unsalted butter, powdered sugar, rum flavorer, and vanilla until smooth and creamy.
- Once the cakes are cooled, layer them with eggnog buttercream in between.
- Frost the top and sides of the cake with the remaining buttercream.
- Decorate as desired and serve.
Notes
For best flavor, use room temperature ingredients and fresh spices. Allow cakes to cool completely before frosting.
