Description

A heartwarming and festive cake infused with spices and topped with creamy eggnog buttercream, perfect for holiday gatherings.


Ingredients

  • 3 large Eggs
  • 2 cups Granulated sugar
  • 2 tbsp Oil
  • 1 cup Butter
  • 3 cups Cake flour
  • 3 tsp Baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp ground Cinnamon
  • 3/4 tsp ground Nutmeg
  • 1 1/4 tsp Rum flavorer
  • 1 1/4 tsp Salt
  • 3 tsp Vanilla
  • 3/4 cup Milk
  • 1 cup Eggnog
  • 6 cups Powdered sugar
  • 2 cups unsalted Butter

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease cake pans.
  2. In a large bowl, beat together the eggs, granulated sugar, and oil until well combined.
  3. In another bowl, mix together the cake flour, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.
  4. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, alternating with milk and eggnog.
  5. Pour the batter into prepared cake pans and bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  6. For the buttercream, beat together the unsalted butter, powdered sugar, rum flavorer, and vanilla until smooth and creamy.
  7. Once the cakes are cooled, layer them with eggnog buttercream in between.
  8. Frost the top and sides of the cake with the remaining buttercream.
  9. Decorate as desired and serve.

Notes

For best flavor, use room temperature ingredients and fresh spices. Allow cakes to cool completely before frosting.
