- 1 large Egg
- 2 cups All-purpose flour
- 1/2 tsp Baking soda
- 1/4 cup Brown sugar
- 1/4 tsp ground Cinnamon
- 1 tbsp Cornstarch
- 1 cup Granulated sugar
- 1/4 tsp ground Nutmeg
- 1/2 tsp Salt
- 1 tbsp Vanilla extract
- 1 cup unsalted Butter
- 1/2 cup Heavy cream
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a mixing bowl, cream together the unsalted butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add the egg and vanilla extract, mixing until fully incorporated.
- In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, cornstarch, salt, ground cinnamon, and ground nutmeg.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until combined and no lumps remain.
- Scoop cookie dough onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes until the edges are golden.
- While the cookies cool, whip the heavy cream until soft peaks form.
- Serve the cookies with a dollop of whipped cream on top for a crème brûlée effect, adding an optional sprinkle of sugar for crunch.
Notes
For an extra touch, you can lightly caramelize the sugar topping with a torch just before serving.
