Description

A delightful German Chocolate Cake Roll filled with creamy coconut and pecan filling, wrapped in rich chocolate sponge cake.


Ingredients

  • 4 large eggs
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 4 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 cup sweetened coconut
  • 1 cup pecans
  • 1 cup sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1 cup water

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a baking sheet.
  2. In a bowl, beat the eggs until fluffy.
  3. In another bowl, combine flour, baking powder, baking soda, cocoa powder, and salt. Mix well.
  4. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the beaten eggs, mixing until smooth.
  5. Stir in granulated sugar, vanilla, vegetable oil, and water.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared baking sheet and spread evenly.
  7. Bake for 15-20 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean.
  8. While the cake cools, mix sweetened coconut, pecans, condensed milk, and powdered sugar in a bowl.
  9. Once the cake is cool, spread the filling evenly over it.
  10. Roll the cake tightly and chill in the refrigerator.
  11. Whip the heavy cream until stiff peaks form and frost the outside of the cake.
  12. Slice and serve.

Notes

Serve chilled for enhanced creaminess. Consider adding fresh berries or chocolate shavings for decoration.
