- 8 oz dark chocolate, chopped
- 8 oz white chocolate, chopped
- 1 teaspoon peppermint extract
- 1 cup crushed peppermint candies or candy canes
- Pinch of sea salt (optional)
Instructions
- Prepare your baking sheet by lining it with parchment paper.
- Melt the dark chocolate in a heatproof bowl using a microwave or a double boiler until smooth.
- Pour the melted dark chocolate onto the prepared baking sheet and spread into an even layer about ¼ inch thick. Allow to cool for 10 minutes until set.
- Melt the white chocolate in a heatproof bowl, stirring in the peppermint extract once smooth.
- Pour the melted white chocolate over the dark chocolate layer and spread evenly.
- While the white chocolate is still soft, sprinkle the crushed peppermint candy on top and gently press down. Optionally, sprinkle a pinch of sea salt.
- Let the peppermint bark cool completely at room temperature or refrigerate to speed up the setting process.
- Once set, break into pieces and store in an airtight container.
