- 1 tsp Baking soda
- 1/2 cup Brown sugar
- 2 tbsp Cinnamon, ground
- 1 cup Granulated sugar
- 1/2 tsp Salt
- 3 tsp Vanilla
- 1 cup Butter, unsalted
- 1 cup Buttermilk
- 8 oz Cream cheese
- 2 tbsp Milk
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a baking dish.
- In a large bowl, mix together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, brown sugar, cinnamon, granulated sugar, and salt.
- In another bowl, cream together the unsalted butter, buttermilk, and vanilla.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix until combined.
- Spread the mixture evenly in the prepared baking dish.
- Bake for about 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- While the bars are cooling, beat the cream cheese, powdered sugar, and milk together until smooth.
- Once the bars are cooled, frost them with the cream cheese mixture.
- Cut into squares and serve.
Notes
For best results, serve warm or at room temperature. Consider adding nuts or spices for a personalized touch.
