- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 ½ cups sugar
- ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup milk
- 3 eggs
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Red and green food coloring
- Fluffy vanilla frosting
- Cake crumbs for sprinkles
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour three 9-inch cake pans.
- Cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla.
- In another bowl, mix flour and baking powder. Gradually add to the creamed mixture, alternating with milk.
- Divide the batter into three bowls. Color one red, one green, and leave one white.
- Pour the colored batters into the prepared cake pans and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Cool the cakes in the pans for about 10 minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.
- Once cooled, layer the cakes in the order of red, white, and green, spreading vanilla frosting in between each layer and on top.
- Crumble any leftover cake and sprinkle on top for decoration.

Notes
For a sweeter touch, consider serving with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream. Store the cake in an airtight container to keep it fresh.
