Delightful brownies infused with rich chocolate and a refreshing hint of peppermint, perfect for holiday gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 large Eggs
  • 1/2 cup Cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup Flour
  • 1 red Food coloring
  • 1 cup Granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp Peppermint extract
  • 1 1/2 cups Powdered sugar
  • 1/4 tsp Salt
  • 4 oz Semi-sweet chocolate
  • 1 tsp Vanilla extract
  • 2 tsp Vegetable oil
  • 1/2 cup Butter
  • 1/3 cup unsalted Butter
  • 7 tbsp Whipping cream
  • 2 Candy canes

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line a baking pan.
  2. Melt the semi-sweet chocolate and unsalted butter together in a bowl over simmering water or in the microwave. Stir until smooth.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together the eggs, granulated sugar, and peppermint extract. Mix in the melted chocolate mixture.
  4. Add the cocoa powder, flour, salt, and red food coloring into the mixture and stir until just combined.
  5. Pour the brownie batter into the prepared baking pan and smooth the top.
  6. Bake for about 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
  7. While the brownies are baking, prepare the frosting by whipping the cream with powdered sugar and vanilla extract until stiff peaks form.
  8. Once the brownies are out of the oven and cooled, spread the whipped cream frosting over the top.
  9. Crush the candy canes and sprinkle them over the frosting.
  10. Cut into squares and serve. Enjoy your Candy Cane Brownies!
